The Cross & . . . . The Crown

I'm a designer. sociologist. activist. Nigerian. American. model. stylist. poet. & above all else a lady.

King Onye Label.

On this day, 23 years ago..

My mother blessed this world & gave birth to me.

Too much fun @ the bar with the ladies from work already today.

Happy birthday to me!

Ok, that was exciting…

Now its time for me to make a way to see Dallas Mavericks vs. Chicago Bulls: April 21st.

I’m going extra HAM for my birthday month this year.

Note to self: Must get ratchet jersey-dress.

Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter, Will Smith & Jada Pinkett Present FELA!
Amazing performance, I cried a bit during the traditional Naija funeral-dance scene.

I love being black, Nigerian, & elite.

“People can talk shit about us, but Nigerians are the most hype Africans in all of the world…” - Kendra.

If they hate, then let them hate & watch the money pile up.

& This why we have our own broadway show.

Gonna see my Broadway performance tonite: FELA!

Orchestra seats.

Thank you, Chicago.

Jay-Z is a real man, who handles his business…

& This song is how we know it.

There should be a burlesque show where the dancers can only perform Beyonce songs.

I’m argue-bargaining with 4 different people via gmail/text to get discounted tickets to see FELA! Broadway in Chicago.
This is truly a Nigerian-situation. Brought to by Onyeka-Chi Ijeoma & The People of Craigslist.

Too often black women confuse taking care of themselves, with being selfish.

Today is my mother’s birthday.

I sent her expensive flowers.

& Next year, I am going to take her to a resort.

I am going to teach her how to relax & treat herself.

At the same time I am beginning to learn it for myself.

The thirsty dudes who’ve been staring at me from inside the Footlocker across my street for a year waiting to “spit game” (say something foolish) are gonna get their lucky day today..

I need new gym shoes.
